Great interview! I've seen Jamaican fisherman on my trip and I loved the simplicity of their ways of fishing. I've also seen what Wolotsky is talking about when they catch their bait with nets, I witnessed it in Santo Domingo, DR in the Ozama River. They had the same simple maneuvers. Its really refreshing when its just a man, a boat, and the sea. I'm sure the warm breeze wasn't too harsh either.
It sounds like a much better fishing industry in Costa Rica, but do you think that because the people have less licenses and rules there, that overfishing may occur?
